Who We Are

Meet Jade

I was born in Xi’an, China, grew up in Sweden and the United Kingdom, and completed my teacher training in Hong Kong. For more than a decade, I have taught and held leadership roles in schools across Hong Kong and mainland China.

I am also a certified mindfulness coach. I work with individuals, families, schools, and educational communities that want to live and learn with greater awareness, intention, and balance. I especially enjoy helping schools develop mindfulness practices that reflect their unique culture and community. In a world that often moves very quickly, I believe we all need opportunities to slow down, reconnect, and create space for what matters most.

I am an AMI-trained Montessori guide for children ages three to six. I love guiding my own children in a Montessori learning space we created at home, and have a passion for helping families raise independent and self assured Montessori children.

Meet Adolfo

I was born in Lima, Peru, spent the first eight years of my life in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and later moved with my family to the United States.

I completed my teacher training in Texas while earning a master’s degree in bilingual education. For more than a decade, I have worked internationally as a K–12 IB educator and leader, mostly within bilingual and multicultural school communities.

Over the years, my work has expanded beyond classroom teaching to include pastoral leadership, mentorship, restorative practices, experiential learning, curriculum design, and community building. I have also shared ideas on the role of care and human connection through TEDx talks and motivating and empowering students in the classroom through EARCOS educational events.

At the heart of my work is a belief that education should always support the whole person, and it is never simply academic. Real growth requires a deep look inside who we are, and most importantly, who we are not. Academic growth matters, but so do the skills that help us attain the knowledge and wisdom required to gain the understandings we seek. Confidence, communication, belonging, critical thinking, self-awareness, relationships, purpose, grit and perseverance are some of the most important attributes every youth requires on their journey to become the best versions of themselves, and contribute meaningfully to their community.

Our Story

Our story began in the small and beautiful city of Wuxi, China, where we were both working as teachers at an international school.

Our shared passion for education, personal growth, and meaningful living brought us together as partners. In time, we became a family and welcomed our two children, River and Meadow.
After River was born, we were both still working in demanding, full-time educational roles. Before long, parenthood began to reshape the way we thought about our lives, our work, and the kind of childhood we wanted to create for our children.

We felt called toward a more intentional way of living—one with more time together, a deeper connection with nature, greater presence, and a stronger commitment to following and understanding the chi

Growing Together, With Intention

As our vision became clearer, Jade began her AMI Montessori training for children ages three to six. This deepened our understanding of child development and strengthened our belief in the importance of becoming prepared, observant, and thoughtful adults who support children as they build themselves.

At the same time, Adolfo continued developing his work in educational leadership, pastoral care, restorative practices, mentorship, and experiential learning. His passion for supporting young people grew beyond academic achievement and toward helping them develop confidence, resilience, self-understanding, and a sense of purpose.

Together, these experiences opened a new path for us—not only in how we wanted to raise our own children, but also in how we hoped to serve other children, families, educators, and communities.

With excitement, trust, and a little courage, we transitioned away from our busy lives as educators and school leaders in Beijing and relocated to Bali.

Surrounded by nature, we are beginning a new chapter as parents, educators, mentors, guides, and community builders. We are creating a more family-centered life while developing programs and experiences that bring people together through education, mindfulness, mentorship, and shared growth.

Mindful Minds Community

What We Bring

Together, We Bring Experience In

* Montessori education and child development
* Mindfulness coaching and intentional living
* Academic coaching and youth mentorship
* Pastoral care and restorative practices
* Curriculum and program design
* Experiential and interdisciplinary learning
* Educational leadership and community building
* Multilingual and multicultural education

Between us, we speak Chinese, English, and Spanish, and our lives have taken us across Peru, Argentina, the United States, Sweden, the United Kingdom, Hong Kong, mainland China, and now Bali, Indonesia.

These experiences have taught us that while every person and community is unique, we all share a need for connection, belonging, purpose, and the freedom to grow into who we are.
Mindful Minds Community is our way of bringing these ideas together.
It is a place for families, young people, educators, and communities to learn, reflect, connect, and grow—with greater awareness, compassion, and intention.

Thank you for joining us on this journey.

Be here. Be you. Belong.
Mindfully,
Jade and Adolfo
